We have some very exciting news for Weston, our international potato sales rep, and for Gold Dust as well.
On December 6th, 2012, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack named Weston to serve on the United States Potato Board (USPB). Last month (March 14-15, 2013), at the USPB’s 40th Annual meeting in Colorado Springs, Weston was seated as a board member representing California. He will serve a three year term that will end February 29th, 2016, and can be reappointed to serve a consecutive three term afterwards.
Weston has joined the USPB before on trade missions to Thailand, South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore as well as traveled with the Oregon Potato Board to Costa Rica, El Salvador and Guatamala. And as you may recall, back in October of 2012, Weston joined the Oregon Department of Agriculture and Governor Kitzhaber on a trade mission to China and Japan. We’re sure his experience on these ventures as well as in the field will benefit the USPB.
As you can imagine, we’re proud that Weston is a part of the USPB and are honored that Secretary Vilsack named him to serve. So please join us on congratulating Weston on his latest achievement! And be sure to check out the press release the USPB put out about Weston joining the potato board.
