Gold Dust and Walker Farms’ Staff and Employees
A combination of dedicated family and excellent employees are an important part of Gold Dust’s success.
Gold Dust and Walker Farms are family owned and operated businesses. From the fields to the sheds to the offices, the Walker family is deeply involved in all aspects of raising, selling and shipping our chipping potatoes as well as growing and harvesting our wheat and hay crops. In the early years, it wasn’t uncommon to see Bill and John’s wives, Jan and Brenda, driving spud trucks, nor was it unusual to find their children weeding potato rows or sorting potatoes in the sheds. This dedication has helped grow the farm, and it continues today.
But it takes more than a committed family to grow a thriving ag business. Good employees are the foundation of any growing business and Gold Dust is no exception. Gold Dust and Walker Farms strive to hire the best talent available and though it has taken time, we feel we have assembled the best teams in the business. Our teammates are bright, dependable and dedicated. From the folks who answer the phones to the people shipping the potatoes and checking contracts, out blended team of talented employees and family is what makes Gold Dust strong.
Family
Bill Walker – Bill is the CEO of Gold Dust, Inc. From domestic sales to growing the business, Bill manages the day to day business of Gold Dust. When he’s not in the office, he can be found out in the fields checking progress or visiting our customers.
John Walker – Under John’s watchful eye our potato, hay and wheat crops are planted, tended and harvested at his direction. As COO, John is also responsible for the field crews and the potato storage sheds in the winter.
Jan Walker – as CFO, Jan has been another important part of growing Gold Dust. However, CFO isn’t the only hat she wears. Aside from keeping an eye on the books, Jan also manages Gold Dust’s office computers and phone systems.
Weston Walker – Weston pulls double duty as a field manager and our international sales agent. With John and JW, he helps with planting, frost patrol and harvest during our growing season. In the months between harvest and planting, Weston serves our international customers and to help ensure their needs are met.
Tricia (Walker) Hill – Tricia serves as corporate counsel as well as community outreach for Gold Dust. When she’s not looking over contracts and working with various government agencies, she works with Jan on the books as well as managing the office staff.
