Schooling, Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of three years electrical experience, technical college/trade school, or License equivalent
- Journeyman Electricians’ Class A card (preferred)
- This position requires driving a vehicle; therefore, employee must maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license, and pass a motor vehicle history check.
- High School diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Bilingual, Spanish (preferred)
Technical Qualifications:
- Must have working knowledge and able to work with programmable logic controllers, distributive control systems and hardwired/software interlocks, variable frequency drives, AC/DC drives and related appurtenances.
- Working and programming frequency drives and automation improvements to equipment.
- Experience with agricultural pumping systems and motors.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment throughout the farm (equipment, buildings, and potato sorting areas) as described in the electrician training program. This includes troubleshooting connectivity and hardware issues.
- Able to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, schematics diagrams and follow specifications.
- Working knowledge of relays, motors and gearboxes is required.
- Must be able to work with up to voltages from 120, 240, and 480, 3-phase and single phase respectively.
- Must be able to read, understand, and be capable of applying knowledge of written information, electrical wiring diagrams, OEM manuals, schematics, blueprints, etc. and possess math skills required to perform job requirements.
- Computer literacy in MS Word, e-mail, and familiarity with the internet required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of safety policies and procedures regarding chemicals, equipment/machinery, and agricultural exempt situations. This includes adherence to federal, state, and local laws.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while using technical judgement regarding complex tasks. Must be able to reason through problems involving set-up of routine instrumentation projects and maintenance of complex processing equipment.
- Must possess judgment required to plan and select and use the correct materials, tools and equipment in electrical construction or maintenance. Must have ability to prioritize operations with multiple priorities and conflicting demands on your time.
- Assist all trades with repairs, replacements, adjustments, modification to equipment and machinery, wiring, piping, etc., as directed.
- Work involves but is not limited to heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and twisting throughout work period. Stepping up, stepping down and kneeling required. Long-term sitting, standing, and walking required. Wrist, hand, and finger movement as well as various arm movement, neck movements. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 70 lbs. Must be able to work from a ladder.
- Ability to work long hours, rotating schedules, overtime, weekends, and holidays, per company needs.

- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; Bilingual (Spanish speaking) preferred.

Job Responsibilities
- Test and troubleshoot circuits in electrical panels and systems throughout the farm and plant. Locate, repair, and replace defective parts and paying close attention to the safety interlock system.
- Assess electrical maintenance needs of equipment and implement an effective regular maintenance program.
- Perform preventive maintenance functions on low and medium voltage electro-mechanical, PLC and solid-state polyphase switch gear operations and voltage motors.
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance functions on electro-mechanical based control systems.
- Stay educated on updates to the National Electrical Code and various regulations, practices, and industry standards governing installation and maintenance of various types of electrical systems.
- Build strong relationships to effectively partner with other departments to proactively understand their needs.
- Collaborate with maintenance team on reducing mechanical downtime and maximizing down days by identifying and prioritizing mechanical and electrical needs.
- Become familiar with all safety devices and emergency shutdown procedures; ensure they are always functioning including the lockout-tagout procedures.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and champion a best-practice safety culture.
- Upkeep any industry and trade-related training, licenses and certifications required to perform job effectively.
- Performs and assists in all factory, agricultural and operations maintenance activities.
- Works with non-licensed personnel to train and enable those individuals to work the required time to test for an electrical license.
- Repairs, replaces, and installs new generators online.
- Uses the Company’s computerized maintenance management system (Manager Plus) to record and access maintenance related information.
- Programs, troubleshoots, and operates programmable controllers, distributive control systems and interlocking systems.
- Performs timely and effective electrical maintenance and repair on rolling stock.
- Demonstrate clear integrity, a sense of ethics & responsibility to the farm and its employees.
- May perform other duties as assigned
Salary
Salary Range: $27.00 – $40.65 per/hour
